Whistleblowing
Making whistleblowing work
Whistleblowing is vitally important in protecting your organisation from fraud, misconduct and reputational damage. By having robust policies and procedures in place it gives employees confidence that their concerns will be taken seriously and that they will be protected during and after good-faith attempts to report wrongdoing.
This training course will explore the key requirements of effective whistleblowing policies and procedures. It will help you to create a culture where irregularities can be addressed quickly and at an early stage.
During this interactive training you will explore key legislation relating to Northern Ireland and consider future legislative developments. You will also identify the strategic and internal governance factors required to support effective whistleblowing, and key areas of business risk and vulnerability.
By the end of the training course you will be able to:
- Understand the legal position of “whistleblowing”
- Identify the governance issues around whistleblowing
- Establish effective whistleblowing policies and procedures
- Consider how to ensure whistleblowing mechanisms are effective
- Measure success of policies and procedures
