Manager as Coach
When a manager acts as a coach it helps employees to find solutions themselves, which can improve their performance and free managers to focus more on their own jobs. A coach builds capability while helping others to develop, take action and make better decisions. This interactive course will enable you to develop a coaching style that will unleash potential in yourself and your teams.
Often in the workplace when managers think they are coaching they are invariably mentoring and giving all the answers. Following the training, you will be able to identify the differences between coaching and mentoring to nurture an individual’s ability to solve their own problems and address challenges.
By the end of the training course you will be able to:
- Understand what coaching is
- Understand the differences between coaching and mentoring
- Develop the skills to be an effective coach
- Be able to identify situations where coaching would an effective and appropriate approach to use, and when not
- Plan and structure a coaching session
- Use the GROW model as a coaching tool to shape interactions with team members
- Evaluate your own effectiveness as a coach

More than 3 weeks prior to the course start date - No cancellation fee payable.
Less than 3 weeks prior to the course start date - 100% of total fees payable or free transfer.
ACCREDITED TRAINING
More than 6 weeks prior to the course start date - No cancellation fee payable.
Less than 6 weeks prior to the course start date - 100% of total fees payable or free transfer.
Substitute delegates will be accepted at any time at no cost.
