Introduction to AI

Turning uncertainty into opportunity

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant concept. IT is reshaping the way organisations work, make decisions and serve people. this presents both opportunities and challenges: how can we harness AI responsibly while ensuring trust, transparency and impact for customers/service users?

During the session you’ll explore the foundations of AI, distinguish between traditional and generative approaches and gain hands-on practice in using prompts to generate meaningful outputs.

This is not a lecture but a collaborative learning experience. Through polls, discussions, practical exercises and case studies you’ll engage with AI in a way that is accessible, relevant and immediately actionable.

Together, we’ll move from uncertainty to opportunity to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to explore AI responsibly and strategically in your organisation.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the differences between traditional and generative AI and where each can add value
  • Recognise key myths, facts, risks and ethical considerations around AI
  • Build practical skills in prompting and evaluating AI-generated outputs
  • Identify opportunities for AI adoption within your own functions and departments
  • Create with an initial action plan tailored to your organisational context
