On average office workers waste 2 hours a day – let’s change that
Time is our most valuable yet overstretched resource. Quite simply, once it's gone you can't get it back. In today's hectic schedule we all need to ensure that we're doing the right things adequately, rather than doing the wrong things beautifully. Would you spend three hours polishing the underside of your car? Of course not, so why do you waste so much time in work on things that seem urgent but don't really add any value?
When it comes to creating ‘to do lists’ organised by deadline you've got it all wrong … who would have guessed it! Most people respond to urgency rather than importance. Therefore there is a tendency to focus on things that are urgent, but are they critical and important in terms of value? What if you were able to make systematic changes to your routine to focus on the important things before they become urgent? Simply, life would become much easier.
Looking forward to sharing Stephen Covey's Time Management Matrix and much more with delegates on our Time Management training on 5 February in Belfast #notimewastershere
