MS Word Intermediate

MS Word offers a wide range of tools which will help to increase your productivity in the creation and editing of documents. This course examines how MS Word is used to produce and manage long documents, which incorporate sections of differing format and style.

This practical, hands-on course will develop your skills and enable you you to automate tasks to simplify document manipulation. You will learn how to include references within a document, for example the automated production of a table of contents, as well as some of the more advanced features such as mail merge and cell formatting and manipulation within tables.

By the end of the training you will be able to:

  • Recap on the basics of MS Word functions to use them correctly including line and paragraph spacing; indents; page numbering; line, section and page breaks; and managing widows and orphans.
  • Insert and edit tables using modification such as splitting tables and cells; auto format and auto fit; text to table conversion; sorting and using formulae; and editing gridlines.
  • Incorporate graphics and text boxes into documents.
  • Create and customise simple templates and forms.
  • Set-up and carryout a mail merge.

If you wish to extend your MS Word skills in order to produce professional documents which incorporate tables, references, forms and mail merges then this is the course for you. Participants should have a basic working knowledge of MS Word.
