The Employability Skills Intervention Initiative
Successful Collaboration with Ulster University
Dr Danielle Mc Cartan—Quinn (HOD) in collaboration with Kate McKay, Director of AKU Training and Sharon Milner from Ulster University has developed an Edge accredited programme for delivery to business studies students designed to address essential business skills calling it ‘The Employability Skills Intervention Initiative’.
This programme provides access to skills based training in interpersonal skills, written communication, governance and good financial management. The programme is delivered by experienced practitioners and is taken from programmes delivered to managers and staff across the public and private sectors in Northern Ireland. Good communication, finance and governance are key to the success of every organisation. As such, this programme provides students with essential skills to enhance employability, professionalism and value in the workplace. It is free to students, the cost being met by the department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategy.
AKU Training has just delivered the second cohort of the programme and is delighted to be working on such an exciting and worthwhile project with the Ulster University.
