This practical proofreading training course is designed to ensure that your written communications are accurate and that they communicate the intended message. Sharing our expertise through practical delivery, we will build your knowledge and skill to enable you to become a confident and effective proofreader.
Common issues in spelling, grammar and punctuation will be explored and you'll discover the importance of rules governing topics such as capitalisation and hyphenation. In the afternoon we'll build on this knowledge through application of a number of proofreading techniques that will enable you to make immediate improvements to the quality of your documents or copy.
By the end of the training you will be able to:
- Recognise the importance and benefits of effective proofreading
- Distinguish proofreading skills from editing skills
- Increase accuracy in spelling, punctuation, grammar and consistency
- Build confidence in the rules governing English
- Use a range of strategies and techniques to find different types of errors
- Implement a robust proofreading process for your team, department or organisation

As a professionally qualified and experienced Chartered Marketer Kate also delivers the CIM Professional Qualification in Northern Ireland.
