One of the most important skills in business is the ability to successfully manage and bring the best out of the people within the organisation. This course introduces essential strategies for existing and newly-appointed managers, including managing their team, developing their leadership skills and enhancing team performance.
Basic management skills such as communication skills and setting team objectives will be covered highlighting the importance of knowing how to communicate more effectively with your team and how to motivate individual team members. By having in place a performance management system this will identify the key actions required to ensure that employees are doing what is required to achieve success for the business
By the end of the training you will:

- Be able to set effective workplace goals and objectives

Lyn is an experienced HR & Training Consultant. She specialises in Organisational Change and Leadership Development, including Executive Coaching. In addition she carries out detailed reviews and investigations into complex and/or sensitive Employee Relations issues. She has worked with a range of private, public and third sector clients during periods of corporate realignment and culture change.
Prior to the formation of her own limited company in 2008, Lyn’s career has included working as a senior HR & Leadership Development professional with multi-site organisations in the retail and service sectors. From 2001 – 2008 she was Regional Head of HR (N Ireland) with Marks & Spencer, leading the HR function during a period of significant organisational growth and culture change. Her role included local HR leadership and she worked at UK corporate level on a range of strategic and policy issues. She held a dual role as Head of Training for the Ireland Division in 2005. She provided coaching and development to senior leaders and regional management, including working with the Division’s High Potential group.
Lyn has a broad HR & Development background in a variety of organisations and sectors, including the service industry, finance and manufacturing/distribution. She has significant experience of delivering strategic HR guidance and leadership development projects in fast-moving and flexible environments, particularly in the context of organisational and/or cultural change.
Lyn is a Fellow of the CIPD and a Member of the Association for Coaching. She is an approved Assessor and Internal Moderator (to Level 7) of the Institute of Leadership & Management.
